La Liga Predictions
Real Betis v Deportivo Alavés
Tip: Under 3.5 goals
Real Betis v Alavés has turned out to be quite the feisty encounter in recent games. Alavés have been getting the better of Betis, with the Basque team winning two and forcing three draws from their last five encounters. Before that, however, it was a winless run of four straight games in which the Andalusians dominated. They met in game week 2 of the 2024/25 season as well, and that ended in a draw. However, we cannot predict the same thing due to the many shifts that have followed, leaving us with the over/under option as the safest bet.
Mallorca v Celta Vigo
Tip: Double Chance
Mallorca’s start to the season was unfortunate, and they will be facing Celta without two important players in Vedat Muriqi and Manu Morlanes, who both saw red in their opening day match against Barcelona. This is surely going to put them at a disadvantage when they host Celta, whom they have lost two straight matches against. However, Celta also didn’t look good on opening day, which is why we don’t expect them to win outright. A double chance bet is the best, and of course, safest.
Atlético de Madrid v Elche
Tip: Atlético to win
Espanyol shocked Atlético to win their clash on the opening day, but we do not expect the third-best team in Spain to lose two opening matches in a row, especially when one of them is against a newly-promoted side. They will also be back home for this clash, giving them all the more reason to win this tie.
Levante v Barcelona
Tip: Barcelona to win
Last time around, we played it safe by stating that Barcelona could win, but choosing to bet over/under in their clash with Mallorca. This time around, we’re going all out to state that they will win. History and current form point to this fact. Levante also lost their opening game, and unfortunately, Barcelona is not the kind of team they can capitalise on to bounce back.
Osasuna v Valencia
Tip: Valencia win or draw
Carlos Corberan’s tactics were on full display against Real Sociedad on matchday 1, and they earned Valencia a hard-fought draw. We believe it will be the same case as Los Che travel to Osasuna to fight for another three points.
Real Sociedad v Espanyol
Tip: Real Sociedad win or draw
Real Sociedad have always had the better of Espanyol in LaLiga for as long as anyone can remember. In fact, it has been 8 wins and 2 losses for them in their last 10 meetings in Spain’s top flight. The only reason for our tip being a 1X bet is that Espanyol started strongly this season. Responsible gambling means encouraging safer bets, and this is the safest bet to make.
Villarreal v Girona
Tip: Villarreal to win
Girona survived the drop last season, but we have them as prime candidates to be relegated this season. Things may change along the line, but at the moment, there is no better and more obvious bet to make as concerns them. This is why we expect them to lose to a lot of sides, especially to the Champions League-ready Yellow Submarine, who had a brilliant start to their season.
Real Madrid v Real Oviedo
Tip: Real Madrid to win
The baptism of fire continues for Real Oviedo, who lost to Villarreal clearly in the opening gameday of the 2025/26 season and are now travelling to Real Madrid for day 2. Los Blancos, on the other hand, could not ask for an easier start to their season as they hope to usurp Barcelona and reclaim the top spot in LaLiga. This game is theirs to lose, and losing is an unlikely outcome.
Athletic Club v Rayo Vallecano
Tip: Athletic to win
Athletic will take this one, even if it is by a narrow margin, like against Sevilla in matchday 1. They are Champions League participants after all, and have beaten Rayo seven times in their last ten LaLiga matches and have drawn two of them as well. They are also at home, making it even more difficult for Rayo to pull a rabbit out of their hat..
Sevilla v Getafe
Tip: Double Chance
Both teams started strong, but Sevilla started even stronger. They only narrowly missed out on a win after clawing their way back to 2 – 2 at San Mames against Athletic Club in game week 1. Getafe, meanwhile, were as composed in defence as they were in attack, helping them to bag two goals against Celta. Sevilla’s new coach is still adapting, and he will have lessons ahead of his meeting with LaLiga veteran Pepe Bordalas. This is why this match belongs to either team, and why a double chance bet is the safest. This also has the potential to be the match of the weekend, so look out for it.
